ROS Consulting

Who’s this for?

You are developing software for a robotic application using the ROS framework in order to achieve a predefined business outcome. You need someone to provide high-level guidance on how to distribute tasks over multiple nodes and how to define the interfaces between those nodes. Or you need someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and handle a specific aspect of the complete system.

It does not matter whether this is a greenfield project or if you are intending to extend an existing ROS based application with further functionality. By leveraging hard-won experience writing Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) platform software, guidance systems for self-driving tractors and control software for legged robots I can help you achieve your desired outcome.

Why me?

I’ve been an early adopter of the Robot Operating System using ROS1 to develop a small proof-of-concept mobile robot for evaluating SLAM algorithms. A more recent project is the ROS2-based L3X-Z hexapod robot which is a mixed electric/hydraulic legged robot for participating in various robotic competitions in order to further develop and enhance its capabilities.

I have further authored a range of technical papers concerning specific aspects of using ROS2, such as how to restrict ROS2 DDS communication to specific network interfaces or how to achieve time synchronisation between ROS2 and Gazebo.
